Informational reports deliver data and answer questions without offering recommendations or much analysis. In these reports, the emphasis is on facts.
Informational reports describe periodic, recurring activities as well as situational, non-recurring events.
●Informational reports also include routine operating, compliance, and investigative reports.
●Informational reports provide data on periodic and situational activities for readers who do not need to be persuaded.
Although informational reports are generally conversational and informal, they should not be very casual. The main points must be immediately visible. Headings, lists, bulleted items, and other graphic highlighting, as well as clear organization, enable readers to grasp major ideas immediately.
●Periodic Reports
Periodic reports keep management informed of operations and activities.
These reports are written at regular intervals weekly, monthly, and yearly so that the management can monitor and build business strategies.
